Signed Willy Ballez coffee table

A rare 1970s coffee table made and signed by Belgian artist and furniture maker Willy Balllez, a true collector’s piece. Authenticated, signed works by Balllez are extremely scarce, as many tables are merely attributed to him without being executed by his hand.
 
He is best known for using natural materials most notably travertine, making this example in black Portuguese marble an especially rare and exceptional variant. Adding to its uniqueness, the graphic pattern on the tabletop is highly unusual within his oeuvre. An outstanding and distinctive example of Belgian artistic furniture design from the 1970s.
